Why typing exercises matter

Flashcards let you peek. Quiz shows four options to pick between. Type Practice gives you only the question and forces your child to recall the answer from memory - the same skill they need on a school test or a real-life math problem. It's the hardest of the drills and the best test of whether a times table is truly learned.

How to use the exercises

1

New to multiplication? Equal Groups

Count groups of colourful things and type the equation. The visual on-ramp; same model schools use to introduce multiplication.

2

New table? Skip Counting

Fill in the gap in 7, 14, ?, 28. Builds the rhythm before recall is asked.

3

Then Type the Answer

See the multiplication, type the product. The cleanest recall test - no peek, no options.

4

Finish with Missing Factor

The same facts presented backwards. If they can solve 7 × ? = 56, they really know the table.
