Why see multiplication first
Before a child memorises 3 × 4 = 12, they need to understand what it means: three groups of four things. See the Groups is the gentle first encounter, paced by the child. No inputs, no timer, no being wrong, just look and tap when ready. Once the picture is solid, the typing version (Equal Groups under Type Practice) tests that they can read the visual and produce the equation.

Say it out loud
"Four groups of three apples - that's twelve apples." Saying it cements the concept.
Move to typing when ready
When your child can predict the equation before tapping, switch to Equal Groups (Type Practice) for the real test.
