Multiplier
What does Multiplier mean?
Definition
In mathematics, a multiplier is a number that is used to scale or multiply another number, called the multiplicand. The product of the two numbers is known as the product. For example, in the multiplication expression 4 × 5 = 20, 5 is the multiplier and 4 is the multiplicand. The product of the two numbers, 20, is the result of the multiplication.
The term "multiplier" is used primarily in arithmetic and is a formal term for one of the two numbers being multiplied. It is not as commonly used as the term "factor," which is also used to describe a number that is being multiplied.
